Held on the second Sunday of each month, Teme Valley Farmer’s Market is one of the most established of its kind in the country. Held under a huge awning just outside The Talbot at Knightwick (on the A449 between Worcester and Bromyard) the produce “thereunder” is of truly stunning quality. I have visited several times recently, each time there has been a friendly buzz between stallholders, a welcome half pint from The Talbot’s own micro-brewery and a good walk on the surrounding paths around Abberley Hill and the “foothills” of the Malverns.
This Sunday expect Organic Woolies and clothing from Yan Tyan Tethira, wonderfully imaginative Scotch Eggs from the Handmade Scotch Egg Company, great cider and perry from Olivers, Happy Meats meats, Wine from Frome Valley, Ducks from Bakewell Ducks, Cheeses from Lightwoods Cheeses and organic fruit and vegetables from Handley Organics amongst others.
The market is ready for visitors by about 10.30 and there will be a short Plough Blessing Ceremony this week. The awning comes down at about 2pm – it is probably best to park just over the footbridge beside the doctor’s surgery rather than squeeze into the pub car park.
