Poet Roger Abbot’s hotly anticipated debut in Ledbury in the unique surroundings of Tinsmiths, as part of the Ledbury Poetry Festival Programme, went down a storm! Family legend has it that Roger’s great, great, grandad threw Wordsworth off his farmland in the Lakes for trespassing, surely this must count for something!!
We watched and listened as Roger peered at things from odd angles through his poems on love, food, shoes, trees, raisins, the end of time, and much, much more.
An aptitude for rhythm and rhyme runs in the family. Roger’s performance was accompanied by a guest appearance from his singer/songwriter daughter, Katherine Abbott. Also in accompaniment was musician and composer Jonathan Fletcher .
