Tinsmiths’ sewing room have developed a new curtain heading, referred to as a “cartridge pleat”. This neat single pleat is most useful for large printed designs as is takes very little fabric and allows you to see the design without the interruption of a full gather. Above are images of this morning’s activity in the sewing room – a seven width silk curtain with 48 cartridge pleats, sewn by hand! Wendy and Rachel secretly relish the challenge although I was glad that I was only recording their effort pictorially and not audibly. The Cartridge Pleat is now a heading choice available through our bespoke Made-to-Measure service – where further details about all of Tinsmiths’ curtain and blind making options can be found.
