Ledbury’s town plan features alleys and yards leading from the main thoroughfare. Amongst many treasures to be found here is Tilley Printworks (established 1875). A letterpress operating on a Heidelberg Printing Press (circa 1935) or Wharfedale Printing Press and solid metal or wooden type from its original premises. The “works” are fascinating and their results cannot be imitated by modern print – witness Tinsmiths cards and calendars.
